Stockbridge, Ga. (December 2, 2013) – Piedmont Henry Hospital’s 14th annual golf tournament raised over $19,000 for Cancer Wellness at Piedmont Henry, which offers free services and programs to anyone affected by cancer at any phase in his or her cancer journey, regardless of whether or not they are a Piedmont patient.
The event, which was sponsored by Vitas Innovative Hospice Care, took place October 18 at Crystal Lake Golf & Country Club. Participants Brian Forshaw, Dean Goolsby, Steve Jordan and Mike Squires turned in the lowest score of the day. Closest to the pin winners were Jeff Cooper and Alan Ball.
Cancer Wellness at Piedmont Henry is available free of charge to cancer patients, survivors and caregivers thanks to a $1 million gift from former Equifax Chairman and CEO Thomas (Tom) F. Chapman and family. Professionally-led programs include education, relaxation and stress reduction, movement and exercise, expressive arts, meditation, individual nutritional and psychological counseling, cooking demos and social events.
As a not-for-profit entity, Piedmont Henry relies on the generosity of others in order to offer many programs like this to the community. To learn more about other upcoming free cooking demos, services and programs offered through Cancer Wellness at Piedmont, visit piedmontcancer.org.
