Marriott’s Springhill Suites raises funds for Cancer Wellness at Piedmont

Newnan, Ga. (March 1, 2013) – Springhill Suites by Marriott, located on Bullsboro Drive in Newnan, recently raised money to support Cancer Wellness at Piedmont Newnan Hospital.

“We are humbled by the decision to support Cancer Wellness at Piedmont Newnan,” said LaVann Landrum, director, Piedmont Healthcare Foundation. “Springhill Suites’ donation to Cancer Wellness at Piedmont will enable us to continue to provide a comprehensive offering of programs to help people live better lives in spite of a cancer diagnosis.”

Since opening in 2012, Cancer Wellness at Piedmont Newnan has helped many cancer patients and their families by providing them free services and programs, regardless of whether they are a Piedmont patient. Professionally-led programs include education, relaxation and stress reduction, movement and exercise, expressive arts, meditation, support groups, individual nutritional and psychological counseling, cooking demos and social events.

“We are very pleased to raise funds to support Cancer Wellness and help those it serves in our community who deal with the effects of a cancer diagnosis in their lives,” said Mark Fetner, general manager, Springhill Suites. “It is important for us to show our appreciation to this community by providing donations to impactful programs like this one.”

As a not-for-profit hospital, Piedmont Newnan Hospital and its affiliated organizations rely on the generosity of donors in order to offer many programs and services like Cancer Wellness at Piedmont to the community.

Cancer Wellness at Piedmont’s mission is to provide social, physical and mental well-being programs in combination with conventional medical care to better improve cancer patient outcomes and quality of life.
