FAYETTEVILLE, Ga. (Dec. 29, 2008)- Ready to make a resolution and stick to it? If so then Piedmont Fayette Hospital’s (PFH) Rehabilitation and Fitness Center is the place to help start 2009 on a healthier and happier note. Throughout the month of January, the Rehabilitation and Fitness Center, located across from the main hospital in the Fayette Professional Center, is waiving the $50 initiation fee for new members.
Getting started on a regular fitness program can sometimes be the biggest challenge when someone decides he or she wants to get fit,” said Jill Fenimore, director of PFH's Rehabilitation and Fitness Center. “The New Year gives people a good time to start something new or modify current goals, regardless of their current fitness level.”
New members receive a free fitness assessment and a customized program to help them reach their fitness goals. They will also find out what areas of fitness to concentrate on, how to exercise safely and monitor progress, and will be taught how to use the fitness center equipment.
Open to individuals 14 years and older, the Rehabilitation and Fitness Center focuses on disease prevention, rehabilitation of injuries and maintenance of optimal health, and educates members on fitness wellness. It also features state-of-the-art cardiovascular and strength training equipment.
“Another important aspect of staying healthy is to visit a primary care physician for routine check-ups, and the New Year is an easy time to remember to schedule those check-ups," said Fenimore. "Receiving routine check-ups aids in the early detection of chronic diseases, such as diabetes, high blood pressure, cancer, and heart disease."
Hope Bosworth of Fayetteville says she could write an entire page about the benefits of the Fitness Center at Piedmont Fayette. Bosworth has been working with a trainer there for more than a year.
“The Fitness Center is the ideal place to jumpstart your fitness program, “said Bosworth. “I have regained my confidence and commitment to a healthier lifestyle thanks to the benefits of the experienced staff at Piedmont Fayette.”
