Dr. Lance Stein is a transplant hepatologist at Piedmont Transplant Institute who specializes in liver diseases and transplantation. Dr. Stein’s special interests include viral hepatitis B and C; management of the complications of liver cirrhosis including portal hypertension; metabolic liver diseases including non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD/NASH); and health and wellness after liver transplantation.
Following graduation from Temple University School of Medicine, he completed residency in internal medicine at Emory University School of Medicine, followed by a gastroenterology fellowship at the University of California – San Diego. He also completed a fellowship in advanced/transplant hepatology at both Columbia and Cornell-New York Presbyterian Hospitals. Currently, he serves on national committees for the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases, American College of Gastroenterology, and the American Society of Transplantation.
