Atlanta, Ga. (January 17, 2012) – Piedmont Healthcare will be holding a series of town hall meetings in the coming weeks in the areas surrounding each of the Piedmont-affiliated hospitals throughout Georgia. Results from recent community health needs assessments specific to each hospital’s community will be discussed.
“It is important to know where our communities stand in terms of health needs,” said Holly Lang, director of community benefit at Piedmont Healthcare. “By sharing our findings with the public and developing programs to address these needs, together we’ll be able to tackle these issues and make our communities healthier.”
In addition to sharing the findings of the recent community health needs assessments, representatives from Piedmont will be discussing future health programs to address the identified health needs for each community.
“Our assessments show there is a wide variety of health issues to address,” said Lang. “The most common issues include access to care, obesity, preventable hospital readmissions, diabetes and heart disease. Now we need to work as a community to proactively address these shared concerns.”
The town hall meetings start Monday, February 18 at Piedmont Mountainside Hospital. Each meeting is open to the public and should last approximately two hours.
