Fayetteville, Ga. (October 25, 2013) – The 2014 Relay for Life of Fayette County will kick off at a meeting on Thursday, November 7 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Flat Creek Country Club, 100 Flat Creek Road, Peachtree City, Ga.
Anne Williams, staffing coordinator at Piedmont Fayette Hospital and committee co-chair of the 2014 Relay for Life of Fayette County, believes this event pulls the community together each year for an important cause.
“Relay for Life is very personal to a lot of people in our community,” said Williams. “It feels good to be able to help fight a disease that has touched so many of our lives. Our goal this year is to raise $250,000 to support cancer research and awareness. I invite everyone to come to the kick off and find out how you can help.”
Anyone interested in forming a team, becoming a team member or serving on the organizing committee is invited to attend the kick off meeting on November 7. The 2014 Relay for Life event will be held on Saturday, May 3 from 3 to 11 p.m. at Sandy Creek High School, 360 Jenkins Road, Tyrone, Ga.
Relay for Life is the American Cancer Society’s signature event that raises over $400 million annually to fight cancer. The event honors cancer survivors, remembers loved ones lost and raises awareness about the disease. Money raised for Relay for Life is used for groundbreaking research for every type of cancer and to provide free information to cancer patients and their caregivers.
