Stockbridge, Ga. (March 3, 2014) – Cancer patients, survivors and caregivers are invited to attend two cooking demonstrations hosted by Thomas F. Chapman Family Cancer Wellness at Piedmont.
On Wednesday, March 26 from noon to 2 p.m. in the hospital’s Foundation Education Center, Chef Beci Falkenberg and dietitian Ellen Steinberg, RD, LD will present the Veggie Love: Fifty Shades of Green cooking demonstration. Participants will learn the magnitude of spring vegetables and delicious ways to incorporate them into soups, salads, entrees, desserts and more.
Then, in April, Steinberg and special guest Chef Hans Rueffert will present the Eat Like There is No Tomorrow cooking demonstration with a special focus on fiber. The event is on Wednesday, April 30 from noon to 2 p.m. in the hospital’s Foundation Education Center.
Cancer Wellness at Piedmont, which is expanding offerings to Henry County thanks to former Equifax Chairman and CEO Thomas (Tom) F. Chapman and family, offers free, supportive services and programs to anyone affected by cancer, regardless of where treatment was received. Professionally led programs include yoga classes, expressive arts classes, cooking demonstrations, counseling and more.
Individual appointments with a registered dietitian are also available for cancer patients, survivors and caregivers who cannot make it to the cooking demonstration. Select Cancer Wellness programs also are available online for those unable to attend classes at Piedmont Henry Hospital.
