Piedmont Henry Hospital is dedicated to safe, quality care. The current data from Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) on central line-associated bloodstream infections in Medicare patients in intensive care units was higher than our peers for the three-month period recently reported CMS. Piedmont Henry Hospital is now part of an ongoing Piedmont Healthcare collaborative to reduce hospital acquired infections (including central lines) using evidenced based methods shown to reduce infections. We have developed a dashboard tracking hospital acquired infections in real time. We take this opportunity to improve very seriously. Our goal is zero infections, and we have programs in place, including a special team formed to address this issue to move us toward that. The recent addition of Jagdeep Singh, M.D., as chief medical officer, dedicates a leader in the medical staff to address quality and safety.
