The day features a putting contest and several contest holes including a hole-in-one contest for a 2011 Lexus donated by Lexus of South Atlanta as well as a contest for a Polaris four-passenger golf cart donated by Peachtree City Golf Cars. Players are provided a continental breakfast, lunch, snacks and refreshments during and after play, use of a golf cart and a chance to claim bragging rights to the 2011 Golf Classic! Each player will receive an appreciation gift and a bag filled with goodies, and will be entered into the putting contest at no additional charge, giving them the chance to win one of the many great raffle prizes that will be given away.
“The Golf Classic is an important fundraising event to the Auxiliary and the hospital,” said Joan Ingram, president of the Piedmont Fayette Hospital Auxiliary. “This event is a great way for members of our Fayette community to come together and support the hospital while having a lot of fun.”
The Coca Cola Company will be this year’s presenting sponsor, however additional support is greatly needed. Packages ranging from $175 to $10,000 are still available for those who would like to sponsor the tournament. As a not-for-profit, Piedmont Fayette Hospital and Auxiliary will put all proceeds back into improving services and facilities, as well as funding valuable outreach and educational activities for our community.
The annual golf tournament is one of the Auxiliary’s biggest events of the year. More than 270 active members of the Auxiliary contribute their talents and have volunteered over 588,000 hours of service in addition to their annual financial contributions. The Auxiliary volunteers are always familiar and friendly faces at Piedmont Fayette Hospital, whether they are driving the courtesy shuttle, greeting and assisting guests at information desks, volunteering in the gift shop or raising funds for a variety of hospital projects.
The Auxiliary coordinates several community activities, including community book fairs and blood drives. They also participate on a state level through the Georgia Hospital Association's Council of Auxiliary Volunteers.
