Atlanta, Ga. (April 30, 2012) – Piedmont Physicians Group welcomes Michael Katopes, M.D., who is board-certified in family practice, to the new practice located at 203 Woodpark Place, Building C in Woodstock, Ga.

The new practice at Woodpark Place, which will provide care for residents of Woodstock, Canton, Kennesaw, Acworth and the surrounding communities, will be open seven days a week. Dr. Katopes and his Woodpark Place staff strive to help patients focus on their total well-being and to be proactive in preventive healthcare.
Dr. Katopes graduated from Bethany College with a Bachelor of Science in biology and received a Bachelor of Science in pharmacy from Brooklyn College of Pharmacy. He completed his residency in pharmacy at Mineola Hospital in Mineola, N.Y. before realizing his true calling was to be a physician.
Having received his medical degree from the University of CETEC in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, Dr. Katopes completed one year of a pediatrics residency at Jersey City Medical Center. He then went on to complete his three-year residency in family practice at Morehouse School of Medicine in Atlanta, Ga.
Dr. Katopes is a diplomat and fellow of the American Board of Family Practice and a committee member of the Georgia Academy of Family Practice.
Effective May 1, Dr. Katopes will be available to see patients at 203 Woodpark Place, Building C in Woodstock, Ga. He is accepting new patients and most major insurance plans.
