Newnan, Ga. (May 1, 2012) – Physicians and staff at Piedmont Newnan Hospital are pleased to welcome Sheri DeShazo, RN, as the new vice president and chief clinical officer.
As chief clinical officer, DeShazo has responsibility for the following hospital services: interventional, women’s, inpatient, emergency, imaging, laboratory, rehabilitation, pharmacy and pulmonary services. She also will oversee the Care Coordination Center.
DeShazo, who brings over 25 years of nursing experience and clinical leadership to her new role, comes to Piedmont Newnan Hospital from Carolinas Healthcare System, where she most recently served as the chief operating officer and chief nursing executive at Kings Mountain Hospital in Kings Mountain, N.C.

Prior to Kings Mountain Hospital, DeShazo was an executive at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center, an 872-bed hospital in Winston-Salem, N.C.
DeShazo received the Cleveland County Business Development Center Humanitarian Award in 2010 and was later inducted to Who’s Who in Charlotte in 2011. She is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives and holds a bachelor’s degree in Nursing from Winston-Salem State University in Winston-Salem, N.C. DeShazo also earned a master’s degree in Business Administration and a master’s degree in Health Administration from Pfeiffer University in Charlotte, N.C.
