National Healthcare Volunteer Week April 19-25
FAYETTEVILLE, Ga. (April 16, 2009) – The Auxiliary volunteers are always familiar and friendly faces at Piedmont Fayette Hospital, whether they are in the gift shop, pushing the cheer cart, assisting patients and visitors at the information desk or raising funds for a variety of hospital projects.
In recognition of National Healthcare Volunteer Week, April 19-25, Piedmont Fayette Hospital is extending their congratulations and thank you to the Piedmont Fayette Hospital Auxiliary volunteers for their accomplishments and contributions to the hospital.
“Our volunteers are ambassadors that provide support to the hospital on a daily basis for which we are undoubtedly grateful,” said Darrell Cutts, president and CEO of Piedmont Fayette Hospital. “We appreciate their dedication to helping this community and the hospital and salute them for a job well done. The Piedmont Fayette Hospital Auxiliary is second to none.”
The Auxiliary coordinates several community activities each year, including ARC blood drives, book fairs, food drives and a golf tournament. The Auxiliary also participates on a state level through the Georgia Hospital Association's Council of Auxiliary Volunteers (CoAV). It also provides complimentary shuttle transportation for patients and visitors around the growing campus. The shuttle is available Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
This year, the Auxiliary is providing the gift of comfort and rest to our patient’s families and guests with 12 Sleeper Sofa’s. These sofas provide attractive seating to accommodate guests in patient’s rooms by day and then convert to a full length sleeping surface when needed. These sleeper sofa’s are constructed for extra strength yet are comfortable, versatile and very accommodating.
“It’s difficult when your loved one is in the hospital,” said Diane Sartini, president of the Piedmont Fayette Auxiliary. “We understand their anxiety and inconvenience and want to make their experience as comfortable as possible. We’re happy to contribute in any way that we can.”
