JASPER, Ga. (April 5, 2011) – Piedmont Mountainside Hospital invites the residents of Pickens and surrounding counties to the Pickens County Health Fair on Saturday, April 23, 2011, from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Chattahoochee Technical College Appalachian Campus, located at 100 Campus Drive in Jasper, Ga. Members of Piedmont Mountainside Hospital’s clinical staff will be on-hand to provide health information, answer questions, conduct various health screenings and discuss screening results. There will also be over 50 exhibitors and informational booths to explore.

The following health screenings will be offered:
- Free: EKG’s, height, weight and blood pressure, hearing, vision, glucose, cholesterol, scoliosis, bone density, dermatology and women’s wellness screenings
- Special blood chemistry profiles for $25.00 (a $350.00+ value) which includes: Cholesterol and triglyceride, LDL & HDL cholesterol, glucose, urea nitrogen and creatinine, sodium, potassium, calcium, total protein, albumin and globulin, total bilirubin and alkaline phosphate tests.
- Optional PSA prostatic test available for men for $10.00 (a $100.00 value)
Participants interested in the discounted blood tests should remember not to eat or drink anything but water for 12 hours prior to the tests. Discount mammogram certificates and breast awareness information will also be available free of charge.
