Atlanta, Ga. (February 15, 2013) – Piedmont Physicians Group welcomes urologist J. Maxwell White, Jr., M.D., to the fast-growing Piedmont Physicians Urology Specialists practice located in the Piedmont West medical office building on Howell Mill Road.

Piedmont Physicians Urology Specialists opened less than a year ago with Rajesh Laungani, M.D., associate director of Piedmont Atlanta Hospital’s robotics and minimally invasive surgery program, and Nikhil Shah, D.O., chief of minimal access and robotic surgery at Piedmont Healthcare. Dr. White joins Drs. Laungani and Shah and another Piedmont Physicians Urology Specialists newcomer Matthew Sand, M.D., who joined in August 2012.
Prior to joining Piedmont Physicians Urology Specialists, Dr. White was in private practice for more than 20 years. He also was an assistant professor in the Division of Urology at Emory University.
Dr. White earned his bachelor’s degree, graduating summa cum laude, from Emory University in 1973 before obtaining his medical degree, also from Emory University. He completed his internship in surgery and residency in urology at the Naval Medical Center in San Diego, California, and served as a medical officer in the U.S. Navy.
