Piedmont Atlanta Hospital
At Piedmont Atlanta, it's our goal to make your visit as convenient, comfortable and pleasant as possible. People who can help are listed below.
Greeters and Escort Staff
In addition to the main information desk in the hospital lobby, there are three areas on the hospital campus where greeters and escort team members stand ready to help you confirm appointments, locate patient rooms and provide wheelchair transportation and assistance to any on-campus location. Locations are as follows:
Greeters have telephone and network access to Piedmont's scheduling and registration systems and the internet. They can provide brochures, maps, public transportation information and other materials upon request
At Piedmont Hospital, we believe that effective communication equals effective care. Our mission is to provide the best possible care to all patients. An equal standard of care is a person's right in the United States, regardless of their legal status.
Direct (live) Spanish interpreting is available at Piedmont Hospital daily from 7 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Language Line phones are available at the CareLink Office with the Nursing Supervisor at extension 5942.
For outpatient appointments, advance notice is appreciated. For more information, call 404-605-4812 or 404-605-4802.
Piedmont's policy is to ensure that all patients who are "limited English proficient" (LEP) experience no delay or denial of services based on this limitation, and that they receive care and services based on accurate, complete information.
It is our obligation to provide reasonable accommodation to overcome any language or disability barrier that might be experienced by our patients - including competent interpreting services to LEP patients and to any relative of a patient who is LEP and needs consultation regarding the patient's history or care. Interpreter services are provided by staff interpreters (Spanish), by telephonic interpreting services and by live interpreters engaged from a local agency.
Our patient relations representatives assist patients and their family members throughout their hospital stay. They answer questions regarding hospital routines, patient advocacy issues and non-clinical patient and family concerns, and provide courtesy services to complement the clinical staff, allowing them to stay focused on the patient's medical care. Other ways patient reps can help include:
Spiritual Care Services
Piedmont Hospital's Spiritual Care Services staff is responsible for assisting with the spiritual and religious needs of each patient, family member and staff member who requests our services. We also are available to the hospital staff. Our office is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and can be reached by calling 404-605-3558. An on-call chaplain is always available to respond to needs and emergencies at night and on weekends.
