Atlanta, Ga. (January 2, 2014) – Michele M. Molden, chief transformation officer and executive vice president of Piedmont Healthcare, has been named winner of this year’s Women in Healthcare Leadership Award by the Atlanta Chapter of the Healthcare Businesswomen Association (HBA).
The award, which recognizes women who have set an example through demonstrated commitment, passion and desire to contribute to their organization and the healthcare industry, was presented on December 5 at the Buckhead Club.
“It is an honor to be recognized and to have my friends, colleagues and daughters with me to receive the award was priceless,” said Molden. “I am also fortunate to work for an organization that supports my personal and professional commitment to women in leadership.”
Widely recognized as an innovative problem solver with over 30 years of progressive leadership in healthcare, Molden was named in 2009 to Modern Healthcare’s list of “Top 25 Women in Healthcare” and Business to Business Magazine’s “Women in Excellence Award.”
In 2007, Molden created the Women’s Leadership Alliance at Piedmont in order to provide an environment that enhances women’s careers and personal development. Two years prior to that, she helped create the Center for Health and Learning, a vibrant partnership between Piedmont Healthcare and Mercer University.
“Amazing leaders like Michele exemplify how to provide innovation, professional development and guidance in dynamic times in our industry,” said Sharon Lynne Baldwin, Atlanta chapter president of the Healthcare Businesswomen Association.
