Leigh S. Hamby, MD Executive Champion
Dr. Hamby was appointed as the Executive Champion of the Office of Research Services in February 2011. He also serves as Chief Medical Officer, Executive Vice President and Chief Quality Officer for Piedmont Healthcare. Dr. Hamby chairs the Advisory Council for Research.
Patrick Hennessy Executive Director of Research
Patrick Hennessy was appointed as Executive Director of Research for Piedmont Healthcare in March 2011. He also serves as Corporate Secretary of the Advisory Council for Research.
Institutional Biosafety Committee
The Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC) goal is to assure that all activities involving recombinant DNA, infectious agents, biological toxins, and pathogenic microorganisms and their products meet the ethical and legal requirements for the responsible use of recombinant DNA, infectious agents, and biological toxins. The Committee has the general charge of supporting a healthy and safe work environment and related ethical considerations as it relates to biologically derived hazards.
