A trip to the Emergency Department can be frightening, which is why Piedmont's goal is to ensure patients get the right treatment in a caring, timely manner. To offer the most efficient service, Piedmont has divided our Emergency Services into six main areas: the Emergency Department (ED), ED Registration, the Clinical Decision Unit, the Endscopy Lab, the Outpatient Infusion Center and the Pain Management Center.
Our 25-bed ED treats 48,000 patients annually. To make your visit as brief and comfortable as possible, the ED features:
The Clinical Decision Unit provides extended care for patients with certain conditions. The seven-bed facility also serves as an overflow area for the ED, which is why each room is equipped with a computer for more efficient charting, order input and patient tracking.
As a leader in motility studies, Piedmont's seven-room Endoscopy Lab now offers capsule endoscopy, and anal rectal ultrasound and the Enteryx procedure for reflux to more than 9,000 patients annually.
Located in the 105 Building, the Outpatient Infusion Center's 12–chair unit is dedicated to providing infusion services including chemotherapy, blood transfusions, fluid infusion and injection therapy. The unit is open Monday through Friday, 7 am to 5pm.
The Pain Management Center, located on the second floor of the 2001 Peachtree Road Professional Building, is dedicated to helping people manage their acute and chronic pain. The team of physicians and staff specially trained in pain management work with patients to improve their quality of life.
