Roshan Shrestha, M.D., transplant hepatologist, medical director of liver transplantation at Piedmont, joins Piedmont from the University of North Carolina (UNC) School of Medicine, Chapel Hill, where he was medical director of liver transplantation and a professor of medicine. Dr. Shrestha also worked at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in Denver.
Dr. Shrestha's experience in clinical research in the field of liver disease and liver transplantation is widely regarded. A member of numerous academic and professional societies, he is active in the United Network of Organ Sharing, having served as chairman of the Regional Review Board. Dr. Shrestha has lectured widely around the U.S., authored several articles in leading medical publications, is a reviewer of many scientific journals and is on the editorial board of the journal Liver Transplantation. He received a bachelor of science degree from Tribhuran University in Kathmandu, Nepal, and a medical degree from the University of Dhaka in Bangladesh.
