Piedmont Hospital offers surgical oncology services as a component of its comprehensive cancer program. Surgical oncology services provide enhanced surgical expertise in more complicated cancer operations, and more comprehensive insight into the overall management of the cancer patient.
An essential component of surgical oncology is the coordination of multidisciplinary care between surgeons, medical oncologists, radiation oncologists and ancillary services to optimize patient outcome.
We take a unique interdisciplinary approach that addresses the whole patient – medically, emotionally and socially - and offer services that span the entire spectrum of care, from detection, diagnosis and research to treatment, education and support. Our laboratory provides the most advanced biopsy testing and analysis available, and our comprehensive onsite imaging services utilize ultrasound, CT, PET scanning, MRI, nuclear medicine, and angiographic and radiographic procedures to identify cancers and monitor their growth.
