FROM THE PRESIDENT -- July 2013
Celebrate with Piedmont the completion of another successful fiscal year and join us in welcoming Kevin Brown as President and CEO for Piedmont Healthcare. The Piedmont Healthcare Foundation surpassed its goal of raising $9 million in new gifts and pledges.
The impact of your gifts continues to touch the lives of patients and families through the certification of programs such as the Chest Pain Centers at all Piedmont hospitals; the establishment of clinical education funds allowing staff to be properly trained and prepared to care for patients; and the ongoing impact patient navigators are having across many service lines helping and guiding patients and their families. Collectively, our donors make life better and brighter by giving in both countless and thoughtful ways. To this end, I personally thank each and every one for a great year.
Welcome Kevin Brown, President and CEO of Piedmont Healthcare.
In May, Piedmont welcomed Kevin Brown and his family to Atlanta. Kevin’s experience with Swedish Healthcare in Seattle brings a perspective from a market that is already adapting to the challenges facing the healthcare landscape.
For the Foundation, Kevin brings real-time, hands-on appreciation of the impact philanthropy plays today in not-for-profit, community healthcare systems like Piedmont. Kevin is already out making introductory visits with major benefactors and community leaders engaging himself in important conversations about Piedmont’s place as a community resource and its future.
What Lies Ahead?
Our new fiscal year began on July 1, 2013 and Piedmont’s place as a community pillar has never been more vital to Atlantans. Operational challenges are on the national and state healthcare landscape and this challenge has magnified the importance of philanthropy to our organization.
Our mission will continue down the same road of providing sustainable resources of philanthropic support for Piedmont priorities. And working with our donors, we will make sure philanthropy resources are there when our community expects the most from Piedmont.
Therefore, your continued support and pride in what Piedmont does is so powerful today as it helps us prepare for a better tomorrow. Again, I say thank you and I look forward to another wonderful year!
